The
two images below are sample windows from the GRAPHIC SOUND
AND VISION WORLD OF MUSIC Interactive Sound
Tour.
To take the tour, you'll first need to download the
Beatnik
Player®
plug-in
(see below for instructions). After you've installed the
Beatnik PLAYER®, you can embark on a musical journey
around the world. Depending on your modem speed, each
page will take a minute or two to download. (For example
the homepage weighs in at about 500 KB, which takes about
2-1/2 minutes to download on a 28.8 Kbps modem, or just
a over minute on a 56K modem, depending on internet traffic.)
We think it's worth the wait, and we hope you will, too!

Why
Beatnik®? |
The
basic methods for controlling sound on the internet are
extremely limited. We've found that Beatnik® has done
the best job so far in providing a complete sound solution
for website development. There are other solutions for
adding sound to the web, such as Apple Quicktime®,
Yamaha S-YG20® SoftSynthesizer, and Macromedia®
Shockwave and Flash software, to name a few
(see examples of Flash sound interactions on our Sample
Scratch'N'Listen Page)
but none of them provide the TOTAL INTERACTIVE
experience
available in Beatnik®. |
